Your JAMB score is already fixed. What you control is the Post-UTME. This guide shows the Post-UTME score you need to reach a strong aggregate, so you can decide how hard to train for it.
The formula
Aggregate = (JAMB ÷ 8) + (Post-UTME ÷ 2)
To reach a target aggregate, solve for the Post-UTME score:
Post-UTME needed = (2 × target) − (JAMB ÷ 4)
What Post-UTME score do you need?
Find your JAMB score on the left, then read across to the aggregate you want to reach.

How to read it
Take a student with 260 in JAMB. They already hold 32.5 marks. To finish on 70, they need 75 out of 100 in the Post-UTME. To finish on 75, they need 85. Every extra Post-UTME mark adds half a mark to your aggregate, so the screening is where you can still move your position.
Notice the trade: every 40 points you lack in JAMB costs you 10 extra points in the Post-UTME.
Where the official minimum fits
UNIBEN's minimum for being considered is a 50% cumulative score. That is the floor, not a target. Each department then sets its own higher cut-off, and competitive courses fill their places with candidates well above the minimum. Aim for the aggregate your course needs, not the one that merely keeps you in the list.
Train for the part you can still change
Practise UNIBEN past questions with a 30-second timer, then use the aggregate calculator to see how each extra mark changes your score.
