UNIBEN Post-UTME 2027/2028: What to Expect and How to Prepare Before the Announcement

The 2026/2027 cycle is over and 2027/2028 has not been announced. Here is what last cycle's timeline suggests, and how to use the months before the notice.

The University of Benin's 2026/2027 admission cycle is complete. The next one is 2027/2028, and UNIBEN has not yet published its notice. Until it does, nobody can tell you the dates, the fee or the requirements for certain. What you can do is read last cycle's notice as a guide to what is likely, then use the waiting time well.

What is likely to stay the same UNIBEN's rule that a 50% cumulative score and above makes you eligible to be considered for admission is a standing rule, not a one-year figure. Your cumulative score is (JAMB Γ· 8) + (Post-UTME Γ· 2). Each department then sets its own, usually higher, cut-off. Work out where you stand with the aggregate calculator. How to use the months before the notice

  1. Settle your JAMB first. Your UTME score decides whether you can take the screening at all, and it supplies half of your cumulative score.
  2. Sort your O'level results. Check that you have the credits the screening asked for last time, and that they come from no more than two sittings. If something is missing, find out your options now, not in July.
  3. Choose UNIBEN as your first choice when you register with JAMB.
  4. Practise under the real conditions. The screening is a computer-based test with no phone and no calculator. Practise UNIBEN past questions with a 30-second timer so that speed feels normal.
  5. Follow official sources. Watch the university's own announcements and the UNIBENGIST channels for the notice. Avoid screenshots of unknown origin.

What we will publish when the notice comes out When UNIBEN publishes the 2027/2028 notice, the Post-UTME guide will be updated with the new dates, fee and steps.
